Die Seife von heute wird zumeist von zweifelhaft geformten Kunststoffbehälten umschlossen, die den perfekten Body für die Reinigungswunder geben. Zusammen sind sie pflegend, anregend, regenerierend und immer frisch.

SOAP hingegen besteht aus grobem Zement, geformt zu Shampooflaschen und einem Stück echter Handseife in der Form eines Kunststoff-Seifenspenders, gebettet auf einem mit weißen Mosaikfliesen besetzten Board.

Zwischen all den steinernen Shampooflaschen steht in der erster Reihe ein Stück edle und dezent duftende Handseife, jedoch in Form eines Plasik-Seifenspenders, was zu einer sinnlichen und zugleich absurden Kontradiktion führt.

Jan Kuck verweist so mit dezenter Ironie auf das sonderbare Verhalten, aus scheinbarer Bequemlichkeit simple Ästhethik gegen komplexe Hässlichkeit auszutauschen, welches in immer mehr Bereiche unseres Lebens Einzug hält und sich in unsere Gewohnheiten einbetoniert hat.

The soap of today is mostly enclosed in dubiously shaped plastic containers, which give the perfect body for the cleaning miracles. Together they are nourishing, stimulating, regenerating and always fresh.

SOAP, on the other hand, is made of rough cement, shaped into shampoo bottles and a bar of real hand soap in the form of a plastic soap dispenser, bedded on a board covered with white mosaic tiles.

Between all the stone shampoo bottles in the first row stands a piece of noble and discreetly scented hand soap, but in the form of a plastic soap dispenser, which leads to a sensual and at the same time absurd contradiction.

Jan Kuck thus refers with discreet irony to the strange behavior of exchanging simple aesthetics for complex ugliness out of apparent convenience, which is finding its way into more and more areas of our lives and has become ingrained in our habits.
